Transcriber The action took place at the Bio-Library, an arena for intriguing interpersonal encounters, between "human books" that told their stories and "readers" who chose to listen and participate. In addition to creating performative guidelines for the event and directing the "librarians", I created for myself a role that I called The Transcriber. I walked among the participants, collecting pieces of conversations and typing them as new and anonymous text. The text was presented on a screen outside the library and it disappeared when the library closed for the day. The title of the work alluded to my family name, which is related to writing and transcribing. The title was also related to the fact that the work was created at a time in which I was dwelling on writing an actual academic text. As an artist I chose to work with the fluid, transparent and abstract features of the text. View video
